People Who “Catch It”

I’m just thrilled when I get the chance to talk with people who’ve come to our church…and they “catch it”.

By “catching it”, I mean they are catching the vision…the vision God gave us for UpRising Church.

Nope, we’re not like all other churches…and we make no bones about it. We are different…not just a “contemporary” church, because there are some churches where the preacher preaches without a tie and they say they are contemporary.

Are we “post-modern”, “emerging”… I think we’re just trying to be as much like the Act 2 church as we can. We are contemporary, yes. But we strive also to be dynamic, creative and cutting edge. This is an on-going process, which takes people to accomplish.

Which brings me back around to those who “catch it”. I had a conversation with someone today about a very important position in our church. One that is truly a position of great responsibility…but a fun position as well! The person I was talking to has really “caught” the vision, is taking ownership of it and wanting to serve in a way that helps us continue reaching more and more for Christ!

That’s it!! Putting Jesus FIRST!! This person isn’t the first, and will be no means be the last to step up to the ministry plate. It’s just an awesome joy to serve alongside people who are thoroughly excited about seeing people’s lives being changed week to week.

If you’re looking for a way to serve…step on up, because it’s a blast!!!
