I Made Ed Stetzer’s Blog!
Many of you know that I am truly a Mac guy, and only work with PC if I have to. I have a 4 yr. old Mac Powerbook G4 Laptop (I would LOVE to get a new MacBook Pro!) and I have a new 3G iPhone. Both of these devices I use a LOT!
I use both to write/edit my sermons, to blog and to “Twitter“. According to Wikipedia, “Twitter is a free social networking and micro-blogging service that allows its users to send and read other users’ updates (otherwise known as tweets), which are text-based posts of up to 140 characters in length.
Updates are displayed on the user’s profile page and delivered to other users who have signed up to receive them. The sender can restrict delivery to those in his or her circle of friends (delivery to everyone being the default). Users can receive updates via the Twitter website, instant messaging, SMS, RSS, email or through an application such as Twitterrific or Facebook.”
So, Ed Stetzer, Director of Lifeway Research and Lifeway’s Missiologist in Residence, and a much sought after speaker in conferences and churches across the country, decided to write on his blog about some “Twitter Advice”. He basically gives about six things you should know before you jump into the world of “Twittering”.
The last point was, “Think before you tweet”…about the time he took on Mac users in a cute little “Tweet”. He warned of the backlash one could get. He got plenty! One from me, which he included in his blog post. Read more on his blog by clicking HERE.
Thanks, Ed, for including me on your blog! But…still, come on over to the Apple side. Once you take a bite, you’ll never go back!

Joe, I’m thrilled to know you’re a Mac user AND pastor AND former weather guy (BTW, we still miss you on the 9 o’clock news). I know a lot of pastors who won’t use the Mac because of the dearth of Bible software and/or church management systems on that platform. And I’ve never seen a Mac in use on the TV news weather reports so I just I assumed you’d be a PC user. I’m sure that you are a more creative, relevant, hip church planter because your Mac experience! Thanks for being a Mac evangelist to the Baptists.
